5-Star Airbnb Rental Management in Collingwood, Blue Mountain and Area
Some guests recently checked into their local Airbnb suite to celebrate a friends 40th birthday. Much to their surprise, their hosts had cupcakes and balloons waiting for them. How is that for exemplary customer service?
Some days, it feels like everyone wants to operate an Airbnb in the Collingwood – Blue Mountain area. As I have written previously on this blog, it is not easily done here in Southern Georgian Bay due to zoning restrictions however, there are a number of properties where it has or is permitted; especially in the areas surrounding the village at Blue Mountain.
Many of my clients who own such units are not interested in managing it themselves. They want a hands-off experience but with reliable and professional service. On that front, there is good news about a relatively new player that has entered the market: Hosting Blue.
I first met the principals behind the company several years ago when they bought their first investment property in the area. I was completely impressed with the high-quality renovation they did and then subsequent very successful rental management of that and other properties that came later. I recently had a chance to ask Joseph and Stephanie to share their story.
Why did you start Hosting Blue?
Our first Airbnb experience in the Collingwood area was extremely poor. The condo had crumbs on the floor, ants, mice, stained sheets and towels and looked nothing like the Airbnb listing. When we reached out to the owners for assistance, they lived in the GTA and weren’t close. They asked us to go to Walmart to buy supplies and remediate the issues ourselves!
Shortly after, we bought our first investment property in Collingwood that we rented out through Airbnb. We love hosting and discovered that guests enjoy and appreciate the thoughtful touches, the local knowledge, the quick communication, and cleanliness that we provided. With our personal experience, speaking with owners and reading other Airbnb guest reviews, we discovered that there was a real need for well managed rental properties in the area. There was a lack of companies that specifically provided full service, Short Term Rental Management. Owners had to source different companies to perform different tasks so those companies weren’t invested in the overall guest experience leaving the owners vulnerable to bad reviews and poorly managed properties. The management of a short-term rental property was even harder for those owners that didn’t live here full-time.
Hosting Blue was founded because we wanted to share our Airbnb rental success with others and help them achieve financial success by providing 5-star rental accommodations.
