You guessed it. It would appear that the Town of Blue Mountains continues to be the highest value neighbourhood in our South Georgian Bay area and, continues to attract high net worth individuals to the town.
I came across this little gem of a report the other day on the Town of Blue Mountains website. It’s a month by month report on building permit activity in the Town and what jumped out at me is that 52 residential dwelling unit permits were issued in the first 9 months of the year with a total estimated construction value of over $52 million. That’s pretty much an average of a million dollars a home.
Unfortunately, the Town of Collingwood doesn’t appear to have a report that is broken down so nicely for comparison sake however, according to our own MLS® statistics from the South Georgian Bay Association of Realtors, the 12 month average resale price of a home in Collingwood was $316,866 as of the end of September compared to $528,505 in the Town of Blue Mountains.
What a difference a few kilometers can make.
